After life's multiple detours and taking the winding educational scenic route, I am finally transferring to Cal State Long Beach. I have been accepted to the competitive School of Social Work where I will receive my Bachelor's within two years. After that, I plan to apply to the Advanced Standing program to receive my Master's and eventually become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
I'm beyond excited to begin this program and eventually combine the work experience I have with those degrees to wholly offer everything I've learned to the communities I serve.
Unfortunately, I was not awarded any financial aid so I have to find other avenues to raise money for this upcoming educational transition.
All the money I raise will go towards my first semester at CSULB to cover tuition, books, random university fees and gas to commute.
I wouldn't have transferred if it had not been for an entire community of family, friends and mentors who motivate me and set an example for me to do better. I owe this to all of you.
My promise (not only to you as a donor, but to myself), is to be an active participant and excel in each my classes, and share what I learn and use it for the benefit of the families I work with. I promise to do my best, meet all my goals, and not let you regret the choice of donating.

Después de varios desvíos de la vida, finalmente me voy a transferir la Universidad Estatal de Long Beach. He sido admitida a la competitiva Escuela de Trabajo Social donde voy a recibir mi licenciatura en dos años. Después de eso, tengo el plan de aplicar a un programa avanzado para recibir mi maestría y eventualmente obtener mi licencia clínica.
Estoy más que emocionada de iniciar este programa y, finalmente, combinar la experiencia de trabajo que tengo con esos títulos para ofrecer en su totalidad todo lo que he aprendido, a las comunidades que sirvo.
Lamentablemente, la universidad no me concedió ninguna ayuda financiera por lo que tengo que encontrar otras maneras para recaudar dinero para esta próxima transición educativa.
Todo el dinero recaudado se usará para pagar mi primer semestre en la uni para cubrir la matrícula, libros, las multiples cuotas universitarias y gasolina para conmutar.
No me habría transferido a la uni si no fuera por toda una comunidad de familia, amigos y mentores que me motivan y sirven de ejemplo para seguir adelante. Se lo debo a todos ustedes.
Mi promesa, no sólo a usted como donante, sino a mí misma, es ser un participante activo y sobresalir en cada una de mis clases, y compartir lo que aprendo y utilizarlo en beneficio de las familias con las que trabajo. Prometo hacer todo lo posible para cumplir todas mis metas, y no dejar que se arrepientan de la decisión de donar a mi recaudación de fondos.
