Soulbike - The Andes Trail

Donation protected
What's happening
Two friends, two bikes. 15,000 km to pedal across the Andes.
From Colombia to Ushuaia, Argentina!

Cycling is not enough for us!
With this campaign we want to turn our extreme cycle tour into the chance to SUPPORT THE ENVIRONMENT, to offer a WORKING OPPORTUNITY for young people in a local Bolivian community, and to create a NETWORK OF PEOPLE who can make a critical choice on what they consume.

Our campaign wants to collect 1€ for every kilometer sweated. Therefore we aim at 15,000€ to collect with this crowdfunding!

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT to accomplish this project!

Here's how it works:
You DONATE now, whatever you can. $5 $25 $50 $1000 Anything helps!!

Supported realities
With our trip we will not only be sharing the most unspoilt nature of South America, but also support three realities which convey messages and values which we believe in:
The total funds raised will be fully allocated and divided equally between the three realities supported:
  • Soulfoodforestfarms - Planting trees in the “Vettabbia park” in southern Milan. The annual cost of a tree is € 25, and with your help we could plant up to 200 trees! The planting will take place when we return to Italy from our South America trip. We will organize the planting with your and other volunteers' support.
  • LaCordilleraExperience - Planting and support to the local community of Peñas in Bolivia. We will spend a month learning about this wonderful reality and we will plant up to 150 trees together with the locals of Peñas using 500€ of funds. The remaining amount collected will be used to improve the logistics, infrastructure and touristic organization of the adventure park!
  • L’alveare che dice sì! - Purchase of a cargo bicycle to facilitate the transport and distribution of local products. The beehive is concerned with critical food consumption, and it promotes natural shopping at zero kilometer directly selling from the producer's hands! Using cargo bikes would save CO2, time and money!
About Us
We are Giovanni and Francesco, two 27-year-olds from Milan with a passion for bicycles and cycle travel. We met in the mountains when we were 12 years old and we shared the passion for sports and the outdoor world ever since. We graduated respectively in civil engineering (Politecnico di Milano) and economics (Fordham University - NYC).
Traveling by bicycle has strengthened our friendship and led us to set up the Soulbikeexpeditions project! After several cycling trips in Italy and Europe, we are ready! On 20 January, we will start our incredible cycling adventure in South America: 'The Andes Trail'.
We will do everything on our own, with our trusty tent and sleeping bags. We will also be seeking hospitality from friends and locals we meet, all while learning about their culture!

Our bike will be our home: we will carry everything we need to survive from the equatorial heat to the Antarctic cold! The alcohol stove will be essential for cooking hot meals when we are in remote places. The trip will be lasting around 7/8 months, passing through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru Bolivia, Chile and Argentina!
