Help Us Build a Brighter Future for 2,424 Students: Support the Amaro Literacy Mission in South Africa

Dear Friends,

We are the Amaro Literacy Mission, a dedicated group of U.S. authors and educators committed to empowering South African students through literacy and education. As we prepare for our upcoming trip on October 15th, we urgently need your support to complete our literacy lab and gather additional school supplies for students in Soweto, South Africa.

Our Mission

Since 2022, the Amaro Literacy Mission has been working tirelessly to bridge the education gap in South Africa. We believe that literacy is the foundation of a brighter future, and we are committed to making a lasting impact.

Our Impact in 2023

12,000 Books Shipped: In 2023 alone, we have shipped 12,000 books to South Africa, providing essential reading materials to underserved communities.

500 Pounds of School Supplies: This year, we’ve delivered 500 pounds of school supplies, ensuring students have the tools they need to succeed.

25 U.S. Authors and Educators: Our 2023 mission brought together a dedicated team of 25 U.S. authors and educators to directly engage with South African students and teachers.

3,000 South African Students Impacted: In 2023, our efforts have directly impacted 3,000 students, inspiring a love for reading and learning that will last a lifetime.

Our Goal

This year, we have already shipped 18,000 books to South Africa, but we need your help to do even more. We are seeking to raise $3,000 to:

Complete the Literacy Lab in Soweto: This lab will directly benefit 508 primary school children by providing them with a dedicated space to engage in reading, creative writing, and other educational activities. Your contribution will help us purchase furniture, educational materials, and the technology needed to make this lab a reality.

Provide School Supplies to 1,916 Secondary Students: We want to ensure that every student we reach has the supplies they need to succeed. Your donation will go towards purchasing notebooks, pencils, art supplies, and other essential items that will support an additional 1,916 secondary school students in Soweto, South Africa.How You Can Help
