Help open Alabama Birth Center

We are opening North Alabama's FIRST freestanding birth center, and we need your help!

Alabama is a state where maternal and infant mortality rates are high and reproductive choices are limited. We want to help change that by creating the Alabama Birth Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Our goal is to combat stigma and improve health outcomes by expanding reproductive health options for pregnant people in the South. We are opening a full-spectrum reproductive health center to include the first freestanding Birth Center in Alabama.

People who desire out-of-hospital births have few options. There is a growing demand for midwifery care; however, this care is not readily available for those with limited resources as these services are usually paid out-of-pocket. We seek to provide a safe, welcoming environment for all persons and remove the barriers that have led to midwifery-based care becoming a service that is unavailable to low-income families.

This center will be a resource for the community. We will provide lactation support, childbirth education, family-centered prenatal care, postpartum support and training opportunities for the next generation of providers.

We have secured a building. Funds raised here will be used to renovate and equip the facility. Phase I of renovations is complete (clinical area including exam rooms and community center). We started seeing clients in this facility in January 2022!

We want to start Phase II, renovations of the Birth Suites!! We need your help to complete this project!
