SpiritWild - A Healing Party Movement

Opening Ceremony and performances in an immersive party experience with numerous characters that embody the spirits of familiar and exotic plants and flowers and where the audience becomes part of the narrative. We debut on our main stage in the form of an Alebrije (Alebrijes! Art car experience) that celebrates the spirit of the Burning Man 2023 theme, Animalia.

Our Person of Color - led art project is an immersive healing experiential performance.

It is a celebration of life and dreams inspired by nature, the plant spirit, indigenous cultural ceremony, mindful ritual, and our spirit guides discovered in nature and in dreams.

The mission of our project is to create a beautiful connection between human, nature, and spiritual guide, for inspiration and play, as well as represent our diverse community of artists creating & performing at Burning Man events.

The Company

Our company is made up of Burning Man veterans and newcomers, performers, wellness guides, artists, and builders. Professional credits include Tony Award-winning Broadway Productions, feature films, guiding meditation and yoga across the globe and with organizations and for events such as DAYBREAKER, KAMOCHIMETHOD, Interfusion Festival, Malisimbo Music & Arts Festival, as well as designing, building, and decorating large scale sets (Dia De Los Muertos DC, Catharsis On The Mall) and DIY costumes. We also have first time performers and people pushing their creativity who are passionate about experiencing the co-creative community inspired by Burning Man.

Our immersive show offering is inspired by the Full Moon Magic virtual shows that launched during the pandemic as a way to connect and share healing and joy during the lockdown.

We are currently a collective of 20 people.

What You Will Experience from SpiritWild

The Narrative

SpiritWild is a portal space filled with the elements of nature, music, dance, and imagination, to invite you to channel your spirit animal guide. We believe channeling spirit animals is best through plant inspiration. Many experiences speak of being in nature, using plant medicine, and the feeling of ‘becoming one with nature’ or crossing over to other realms, as powerful moments when spirit animals are most likely to connect with you.

The Wild Muses of SpiritWild hosts your experience in this portal space. They shift in shapes and for Burning Man 2023, they transform to embody some of nature’s beautiful and exotic characters, from the Dahlia, Plumeria, the Sunflower and Rose, to the dark and fascinating Vampire Orchid and the Poppy. The Wild ‘Plant’ Muses play with your imagination by creating a stimulating sensorial space and guiding you through rituals and entertaining you with movement and music to activate your child-like wonder while bringing healing and inspiration.

The Immersive Show experience

A tribe of otherworldly plant and flower creatures emerges from the colorful Alejibres! art car to perform wellness activations and a dance show with the intention of healing and amusing, and inspiring by creating a musical narrative about connection. What is your participation in our story and what character do you play?

The performers are the Wild Muses and are uniquely and exquisitely dressed like spirits of the plants and flowers. Their movement and vocals embody the characteristics and qualities of their plant or flower character. It is a fashion-forward spectacle.

The experience features a guided meditation and breathwork along with the music background that seamlessly transitions into guided movement to bring healing to our bodies and open our hearts for the dancefloor.

As the DJ’s music continues for you to vibe and dance, the characters make themselves known with their unique healing offerings. Moments of aroma baths, fire performances, flow arts and dance, live vocalizing, percussion, flash mobs, massage, and yummy delights are some of their surprises.

Fundraising

We are raising funds for production equipment, to continue the build and decoration of our main stage and its surrounding set pieces, props, costumes, and a pool of funds to be split among our team easing the costs of Burning Man tickets, camp dues, and transportation.

Starting in January 2023, a variety of event offerings for the community will take place, including a variety of full moon ritual event concepts, leading up to the August Full “Blue” Moon which will be SpiritWild’s Opening Ceremony at Burning Man. The events range from a tea ceremony and guided energetic movement and party at Flash Club in D.C., to an immersive cocktail party at a secret location, live & virtual breathwork & dance classes, events in NYC, and more. These events will serve as a teaser to the experiences SpiritWild will present at Burning Man.
