Dear Believers,
Our story goes a little like this.
Las Vegas is known for many things but church is not one of them. As hard as it is to not get consumed with the lifestyle we manage fine with the help of the church and our dedicated priests. There is a feeling of serenity and gratitude that overwhelms us all after Sunday morning mass. It feels amazing to have a little piece of heaven hidden in the heart of sin city.
Recently, our church, Kidus Michael Las Vegas Church, like many before us, had a disagreement in between committee members. Now this is not extraordinary as people are bound to clash having different opinions. Forgiveness is the basis of Christianity so we all figured things will go back to normal once the different sides came to understand each other.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The quarrel went as far as the church being split in to two sides. One side with the committee members and the other with our priests, deacons and the people. Committee members proved to be the stronger link as they had aquired control over the church itself very quickly. Therefore they evicted the Priests out of the church.
Our priests have dedicated their whole lives to the church and to spreading the word of God, and now they are left with not much to show for it. They are in a foreign country been lead by neither power nor money, but instead pure faith that they have in God, the Alimghty. Not being familiar with the law of a foreign country hurt them to a point where they are left without a church. They have been holding prayers at parks and local gardens. (Please view attached video) This breaks my heart, as I am sure it does to all of you, to see what they have worked so hard on for so long is snatched from them for the love of money by a few selfish members.
I can't even begin to imagine the pain that they are going through. They are powerless but they are in no shape or form giving up. They are currently working on getting a small church of their own, St. Gebriel Las Vegas Orthodox Church.
So Dear Believer, Today we call up on those of you who will give to help us achieve this goal. Let's be their power, let's be their hope and let us be the God sent to shine the light on them one more time. So they can have a place to call a Church of their own. They have dedicated their whole lives to praying for the world and it's time for the world to lend a helping hand. People always ask "how can I help", well here is your chance. Please donate what little you can today, so you can change their tomorrow. No gift is too small to God be Glory.
