St. Kilian’s N.S. Run for Funds for Cavan Hospital
Donation protected
St. Kilian’s National School would like to express our thanks to all the staff at Cavan General Hospital, especially our own parents, who are working above and beyond the call of duty during this global pandemic. To show our appreciation, we are going to continue with this year’s Run for Funds in order to raise money for Cavan General Hospital.
Our annual Run for Funds was due to take place on Friday, June 12th. Unfortunately, we can’t run the usual 1km, 3km or 6km routes together, as a school, but there is nothing stopping pupils and families from running the same distances themselves at home. This could be achieved by running in a back garden, around your house, in a field or around an estate. The aim is for everyone to complete the run during the week Monday 8th – Friday 12th June and to donate something towards Cavan General Hospital via our GoFundMe page. On the day of your run, we would also ask for pupils to wear an old Run for Funds t-shirt (if your child has one) and for parents to take photos to share with the school.
We would encourage families to build up fitness in preparation for the run. Parents and pupils can follow the school’s training schedule on Aladdin, where there will be weekly updates on the run. The six week running programme is available for viewing on St Kilians NS Parents Association Facebook Page too. Remember, it is always important to drink plenty of water to help prevent dehydration and to avoid possible muscle injury. It is also very important to warm up and cool down before and after running sessions.
N.B. Please follow all Government advice and comply with any restrictions in relation to exercising outdoors.
Our Run for Funds was due to take place on Friday, June 12th, so you have up until that date to donate, should you wish to. Let’s keep fit and healthy while also raising money for a worthy cause.
