Raise money for a Sensory Garden dedicated to Zach Peek ZP4
Donation protected
Last year, our Somerset Children's Parliament Team chose to design a sensory garden to provide our pupils with a quiet space to enjoy the environment around them and help with regulating emotions. We presented our design, along with a 3D model, to a panel of judges in the 2023 competition and received fantastic feedback.
We have chosen to dedicate this garden to a former pupil, Zach Peek, who heartbreakingly passed away, very unexpectedly, in December 2022. We would like to raise as much money as possible to transform this space, in the Autumn term, into a special place in the school. We will be asking our pupils to help develop the area and will be reaching out to the community to support the creation of the sensory garden. It will stretch along the back of the Year 5 classrooms, up to the front entrance of the school for all to see.
Mr Trudgeon has chosen to raise money for this project as part of his 215 mile effort, crossing the width of Scotland in an event called Race Across Scotland, from the 10th-14th August 2024. Athletes, who have met the entry standard, will join an international field of runners taking on the Southern Upland Way, over mountains, along the valleys and through the forests of the Southern Uplands of Scotland. Over half of the runners that have started in the past couple of years have dropped out before reaching the finish line. This is part of the reason that it is considered one of the hardest ultramarathons in the UK.
You can track him using the link above from 10th August-14th August.
