Help Steven Volunteer With GHF (2024)

Dear Friends and Family,

I am excited to share with you my involvement in a medical outreach program organized by the Global Healthworks Foundation (GHF), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing integrative healthcare services to medically underserved communities, entirely free of charge to patients. Our mission is to offer acupuncture therapy and other complementary treatment modalities through special mobile clinics in Santa Cruz del Quiché and Chichicastenango, located in the Northwestern region of Guatemala, all at no cost to the patient.

 Being part of GHF's volunteer team promises to be an immensely rewarding experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their twelve-year legacy of serving those in need.

While I typically do not seek financial assistance, this opportunity to make a meaningful impact resonates deeply with me. Therefore, I am reaching out to request your support in covering the out-of-pocket expenses associated with my volunteer trips. Your generous donations to GHF will directly support my airfare, ground travel expenses, and accommodations in rural areas. Any surplus funds will be used to purchase children's and adult vitamins, as well as other essential treatment supplies.

GHF has been dedicated to serving indigenous communities in Guatemala for over a decade, providing high-quality treatments to over 65,000 patients. During the medical clinics, known as "jornadas," we will offer acupuncture, therapeutic bodywork, natural herbal remedies, rehabilitative body movement exercises (such as qigong and yoga), nutritional counseling, Reiki energy healing, psychological support, and more to approximately 200 patients per day. Additionally, we will train local health promoters to empower their communities with sustainable health practices.
