Need Experts: Wrongful Death Trial
Donation protected
Hello, I am Jennifer Williams, and I am trying to raise funds to help pay the Vocational Economics experts, Jacquelyn Velez and Ron Missun, to help assess a value to the life my daughter, Summer Williams, lost at the age of 16 years. We have a wrongful death trial scheduled to begin on August 31, 2015, just 2 days after what should be her 20th birthday. We are going to be responsible for paying the experts because my attorney has taken my case without charging me for his services. Thank you, Alan W. Roles, you have always been my lifesaver! We have already received a default judgment so we don't have to prove his guilt and that in itself has saved me $1000s, however we do need to have experts testify on behalf of my daughter to establsh a monetary figure that will be awarded.
I am sickened by the fact that I will have to appear in court and listen to people who have never met my daughter try to put a dollar amount on the loss of her life. The decisions I have made since February 5th, 2012, the day Summer lost her life, have changed who I am forever. I have sat through dozens of ciminal court proceedings with the people responsible for providing my daughter with the drug that ultimately claimed her life and expressed no emotion. I have written victim impact statements that exhaust me to the core after receiving guilty pleas. I have exposed my heartbreak to the world around me to try to help other families not suffer the way mine has due to such a senseless act. I have evolved as a mother. I used to claim having to give birth to my daughter was the most painful moment of my life. I was wrong. Having to bury my daughter is the most excrutiatingly painful moment of my life.
Getting closure to this civil action will be the final closure for my family on all court proceedings. I am looking forward to closing this chapter and moving on to getting some Bills enacted to protect our children from the individuals willing to endanger their lives by exposing them to deadly drugs.
Thank you in advance for all donations. My family will be eternally grateful.
