Support Bob in his battle against cancer

On June 3, 2024 Bob went to urgent care and was promptly admitted to York hospital after suffering a heart attack. Bob was subsequently diagnosed with diabetes and a mass was discovered in his right lung. Needing more advanced care, Bob was moved to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Diabetes management began immediately, and he underwent heart surgery and received three stents. After a three week recovery period, and depleting Maine Med of their diet ginger ale stock, Bob was moved to a rehab facility in Portland. On June 29 he was released to the care of his family to continue to strengthen his heart and tackle what’s next. We’re eternally grateful to all the doctors and nurses who cared for our dad.
At this point Bob has undergone several tests including a brain MRI and PET scan. The brain MRI was clear of cancer, but the PET showed some activity around his lung and neighboring lymph nodes, his abdomen and pancreas. It is too soon for a formal diagnosis but Bob has a bronchoscopy or EBUS scheduled for July 31, along with some CT scans that will provide a full picture for oncology to make a recommendation for his course of care.
We are all rallying together and spending as much time in Maine as we can to care for my dad and keep his spirits up! Bob loves hearing from you all and so please keep the good thoughts coming!
