Starting last November our dads health took a turn for the worse, that has since been severely affecting his daily life. What started out as a normal chest/sinus infection has resulted in a mysterious 10 month journey. He woke up one day and could not breathe on his own without the help of various medications. The meds that keep him breathing have drastic effects on his mind and body, but they are the only things keeping him out of the ER. He began seeing doctors at hospitals in Colorado Springs and Denver, but they were unable to diagnose him. It’s a terrible feeling looking a doctor in the eye and they say “we can’t find what this is”. We were finally able to get dad into one of the best diagnostic clinics in the country, the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. There they found a specific blood test that was 10 times higher than it should be. We were finally given an answer! He was diagnosed with a rare form of asthma. Finally some possible answers. He was to be given a new Biologic shot once a month for 6 months, and would possibly be able to get off all the meds that are causing the horrible side effects. Unfortunately, the shots are not working for his body so far. They told us there could be a chance of that happening, but we hoped and prayed it wouldn’t be dad. Sadly we are not seeing much results. Even though he is continuing the shots, we are basically back to square one & trying to figure out what is causing the breathing issues. You can imagine our frustration. Day to day tasks that are simple to us are almost impossible for dad.

As we are trying to figure out what is going on with dad,  we are at the end of our rope. We are reaching out to our friends and family to ask most importantly for prayers. We have seen God do amazing things in our family, and we need all the prayer warriors we can get. Second, we are asking for any donation to help dad get a new bed that will help him sleep better while he struggles with this illness. He needs a bed that raises at the top and bottom so he can sleep sitting up, and help with the breathing and swelling. My parents have had to sleep in separate beds for months which is not working. Mom needs to be there for dad when he has hard breathing spells or chest pains. We have found a bed that is two separate twin mattresses, so one side can be propped up. With everything out of our control, this tiny change will give them a sense of normalcy back.

Any donation big or small can make the difference. With all the medications, shots, tests and traveling out of state, everything is adding up and becoming too much. All proceeds will go towards purchasing the new bed for dad and any extra will go towards travel expenses to see doctors/medical bills.

Please pray for the doctors  to have the wisdom to find the answers dad needs. Pray for dad to have a good day. Pray for the whole family to have the patience to stay strong. We will update with dads progress and how he is doing. If you wanna get a message to dad please contact Aspen Ross, Caysie Loyd or Billie Greenfield. Dad is taking a break from social media. Please share this page! We appreciate and love you all!
