At the age of six, Bella started snowboarding, transitioning from skiing, which she had been doing since she was just two years old. Now aged 15, she has been an avid competitor in snowboarding since the age of 10, developing a strong passion for extreme disciplines such as slopestyle, free riding, boardercross, and her favourite, big air.
Around the age of 12, Bella began participating in various snowboarding competitions, including the Australian National Championships, Perisher Park Showdown, and the Thredbo Snow series. Over the past seven years, she has consistently achieved top-three placements in slopestyle and big air events.
From 2019 to 2023, Bella had the privilege of being part of the Emerging Talent Programme with Snow Australia. This programme offered her valuable opportunities for education, fitness camps, and training at the National Snowsports Training Centre, which also involved off-snow airbag training.
In March 2022, Bella had the incredible opportunity to compete in the Junior World Championships in Leysin, Switzerland, where she stood out as one of the youngest competitors at just 14 years old. This year, she has been selected to represent Australia in the Junior World Championships held in New Zealand in August, competing in both Slopestyle and Big Air. A strong performance in these championships could secure her place to represent Australia in the prestigious Youth Olympic Games in 2024.
Four years ago, Bella's journey received a significant boost when she secured sponsorship with Rhythm Snowboard Shop. This sponsorship provided her with Endeavour snowboards and other gear at a generously discounted rate. In 2021, she was invited to ride for and proudly represent Rip Curl Australia. More recently, Bella gained the support of Tough Tits, a non-profit organisation empowering women in sports and supporting breast cancer fundraising and research. This backing provided her with promotional apparel to further her cause. Moreover, she recently met with the representative for the Australian and New Zealand 'Yes' snowboard team, an exciting opportunity as these boards align perfectly with her preferences.
Despite her talent and dedication, the financial aspect remains a significant challenge for young athletes like Bella. Attending these prestigious events and representing her country requires substantial funding for travel, accommodation, and other expenses. Without the necessary support, her dreams of competing on the world stage may remain unfulfilled.
We are reaching out to you to consider supporting Bella in her remarkable snowboarding journey as she proudly represents her country. Your assistance can make a significant difference in turning her dreams into reality. Thank you for your consideration and support.
