Support Mahakali Zonal Hospital's Covid Response
Dear Friends,
This is an urgent appeal to you all to join me in raising funds for Mahakali Zonal Hospital in Mahendranagar (Bhimdatta), Kanchanpur, Nepal. I believe many of you might be aware of the dire situation hospitals in Kathmandu and other major cities of Nepal are facing right now with the scarcity of oxygen and necessary supplies to help patients impacted by Covid-19. The situation is getting worse by the day in Mahendranagar, which is in the far-west of Nepal. This second wave of Covid-19 is wreaking havoc among the local population, as I am sure you all have heard by now based on the increasing rates of death in Mahendranagar that are now showing up in our social-media feeds.
These are the times where Covid-19 pandemic is creating big problems all over the world and countries like Nepal have not been left untouched by this pandemic. As you can imagine, the situation is even worse outside the capital of the country. Hospitals outside the major cities, like Mahakali Zonal Hospital are critical in this moment of need. However, this 2nd wave of pandemic has put a major pressure point on medical and logistical infrastructure at this hospital where people from Western part of the country, such as Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Doti, Darchula, Achhaam, Bajhang, Dhangadi and other neighboring regions come for treatment.
Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Kanchanpur Udhyog Banijya Sangh) and local youth volunteers have been taking initiatives recently to help maintain a steady supply of oxygen to Mahakali Zonal Hospital. However, not every patient in need of oxygen is able to secure oxygen supply due to limited availability of oxygen cylinders. This is where we all can help by raising funds to help provide more oxygen cylinders for these patients. Some of these funds could also be used in purchase of necessary medications and supplies for the patients, I have shared some of the links (in Nepali language) from local and national newspapers that indicate efforts by local volunteer who are doing their best to maintain a steady supply of oxygen at the hospital by sharing their time and money-

Let us unite to help raise funds for this initiative so that no one has to die from lack of oxygen and necessary medicines at Mahakali Zonal Hospital. Every single dollar raised from this funding initiative will be transferred to the representatives from Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry as well as local volunteers who are working night and day to save the lives of patients in need.
