New Start: Help Our Friend Find Safety Abroad

Donation protected
Thank you for all your support. As our friend continues to search for a way to escape and start a new life in a safer place, he deeply appreciates any help you can offer.

Please note, that all identifying details of the recipient of your donations, recently interviewed on the "Honestly" podcast by Bari Weiss, have been removed for his, and his family's, safety.

Important: The fastest and most effective way for him to achieve this is through a job offer. He is a well-educated Customer Success Engineer with three degrees, including a BA in Computer Science, a Master's in Economics, and an MBA. He is also fluent in several languages and has years of experience in the Israeli high-tech sector. He is seeking roles such as Customer Success Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Solution Architect, Customer Success Manager, Implementation Engineer, or any related positions.

A bit about him:
He is an inspiring individual from a small village in WB, who broke many barriers throughout his journey in Israel. With perseverance and resilience, and despite numerous hardships, he succeeded not only in his professional career but also in bringing both people together.

In his own words :

Since coming to Israel, I've met amazing people who have become like family to me, extending their generosity and opening their homes and hearts. All were instrumental in my journey toward success. I’ve lost count of the moments we’ve shared around the dinner table on Shabbat, the prayers, songs, sufganiyot, and lighting candles during Hanukkah, or the times spent in the sukkah or cycling on open roads during Yom Kippur. These experiences have shaped me into someone tolerant and accepting.

Similar to my own limited interaction with Israelis prior to 2018, many of the Israelis I encountered had never interacted with a Palestinian before meeting me. I believe and hope that through my interactions with them, I was able to present a positive image of the Palestinian people, fostering understanding and breaking down stereotypes. Although there are forces that spread hatred, division, and thirst for blood, often setting us back and undoing progress. I remain hopeful and determined to build bridges and use my voice to speak up, even if it puts my life at risk - positive change, peace, and progress require us to make sacrifices.

The people I met in Israel became like a second family to me, which is why I didn’t hesitate to publicly denounce and condemn the terror attacks on October 7th. After all, who would ever wish harm upon their own family?.

I knew it could have dangerous repercussions for me, but I couldn’t remain silent. Though this decision came at a cost, resulting in the loss of many friends, connections, and relationships, and even being called a 'traitor' with threats to my life, I felt compelled to speak out.

I still believe it was the right decision, and I have no regrets. I will always hold onto hope—a hope that one day, both peoples can coexist in peace because I experienced it firsthand. I lived it and saw that it is indeed possible. However, first, I believe that we need to eliminate and stand together against the terror groups responsible for the division, horror, and hatred and that's why it was important for me to speak up.

It has been very difficult for me ever since. I feel isolated and unsafe where I currently live in the West Bank as my life turned into a living hell. I'm constantly afraid and unable to leave my house and trying to find a way to escape here.

The only power I had was my voice, and even that was taken away from me.

My deepest wish is to live in a country where I can authentically express myself, speak up, and advocate for my beliefs—where I can take on a greater role in promoting Israel-Palestinian relations without fearing for my own or my family's safety.
Thank you for any contribution you can offer. Your support means a lot.

Your support will assist him in relocating and finding work in a safe place in the USA or Canada especially after publicly expressing his views and posting comments condemning the terror group responsible for Oct 7th. Additionally, it will sustain his family during these challenging times. Any contribution, no matter how small, is a meaningful gift.

He made this post in the early hours of October 7th, followed by several more posts in the following weeks.

Including the following

"Since October 7th, we've been living in the shadow of an unending tragedy, and attempting to justify it in the slightest is utterly unacceptable. It is a tragedy that has affected all of us personally and deeply, defying even the most eloquent words to fully convey the profound pain and sorrow that we are going through. The ongoing suffering and loss of innocent lives shatter my heart and fill my eyes with tears.

While our hearts may be heavy, let us not forget the enduring power of hope. Hope is not about blind optimism, nor is it a disregard for our troubles. It is the belief that even in the face of adversity, we can overcome challenges and create a better world for both sides as we owe this to our kids and future generations, so they don't have to endure this suffering.

Hate is easy, blocks clarity, and clouds our judgment, echoing the words of MLK, 'Hate is too great a burden to bear.' I've chosen a different path, one where I continue to embrace hope because hope is what made my journey here as a Palestinian possible, a hope that I've drawn from the incredible people that I met here in Israel.

Truly, this is heart-wrenching. I pray deeply for an end to this and to the suffering, I pray for the innocent lives that we have lost on both sides, and their grieving families, and for the safe return of the hostages. I pray and hope for a better tomorrow."

Use of funds

Part of the funds will support his family, as he is currently the sole provider for both his own family and his separated sister, who has four young children (aged 4 months, 3 years, 4 years, and 6 years). The remaining funds will cover essential expenses, including legal fees, permits, and plane tickets. Additionally, they will assist him in relocating to a safe place where he can be supported until he secures asylum and finds employment that will sponsor his visa (which will take at least a year ) and help him build a new life at the destination
