My name is Cassidy and I am stating this go fund me to assist my Brother Mitchell and Sister in Law Paige during this extremely difficult time.

We are seeking your support as my baby nephew, Rylen who is just three months old has been diagnosed with a severe medical condition and has undergone an urgent major surgical procedure at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Rylen was a happy and healthy baby who was taken to the emergency department here in Geelong with what was thought to be an innocent viral infection.

That day they almost lost their baby boy as when he was in resus he was finding it extremely difficult to breathe but this was only the start of their long and complex journey.

It was later found that he has a mass which was taking up almost his entire abdominal cavity which had made him go into urinary retention. His poor lungs could not expand enough with both the mass and the bladder taking up all of that room.

Rylen has now had the first of many surgeries on Thursday the 30th of May to remove the mass, however surgeons were unable to remove the entire mass.

They have formed a stoma, which we are hoping can be reversed in the future, however the stoma has now prolapsed and Rylen has undergone a second surgery in just 2 days.

As a family our hearts are aching at the thought of baby Rylen having to endure such difficult and invasive surgeries at such a young age.

Paige and Mitchell are doing everything in their power to stay strong for him but they cannot do it alone.

Paige was due to return to work from Maternity leave soon and Rylen start daycare but with his complex and numerous surgeries to follow this will be impossible.

The financial burden of this and Mitchell having used all of his sick leave and being unable to be at work when Rylen is undergoing these procedures and having the care for their 3 year old daughter whist Rylen is in the Royal Childrens is overwhelming.
