Support Siu's Healthcare Mission in Guatemala

Tax deductible
Dear Friends and Family,

I am reaching out with an exciting and heartfelt request for your support. I have been invited to participate in a medical outreach program organized by the Global Healthworks Foundation (GHF), a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing integrative healthcare services to medically underserved communities, entirely free of charge to patients.

This March, I will be traveling to Santa Cruz del Quiché and Chichicastenango in northwestern Guatemala as part of a volunteer team conducting mobile healthcare clinics. Our mission is to bring acupuncture therapy and other complementary treatments to these communities.

As part of this transformative outreach, I have the privilege of offering my specialized energy healing treatments and teaching my signature Heal From Within© Qigong techniques. I will be empowering local health promoters with these invaluable breathing and movement practices, enabling them to continue supporting their communities with self-healing tools long after the mission concludes.

Being part of GHF’s volunteer team is a profound honor, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their 12-year legacy of service.

This endeavor is especially meaningful to me, and I am reaching out to ask for your support in contributing to this worthy charitable foundation. Your tax-deductible donation to GHF will directly fund patient care expenses, including essential clinical supplies, herbal remedies, educational materials, vehicle rental and fuel, and stipends for local health promoters, translators, and drivers.

GHF has been providing high-quality care to indigenous communities in Guatemala for over a decade, treating more than 66,000 patients. During our medical clinics, known as jornadas, the team expects to treat approximately 250 patients per day. Services will include acupuncture, therapeutic bodywork, herbal medicine, rehabilitative movement practices (such as qigong and yoga), nutritional counseling, Reiki energy healing, psychological support, and more. In addition, we will train local health promoters to sustain these healing practices long after the outreach concludes.

Your love and support mean the world to me as I embark on this meaningful journey.

With gratitude,
Siu

P.S. More Information:
The indigenous populations of northwestern Guatemala face immense barriers to accessing modern healthcare. Many lead physically demanding lives, often working as manual laborers or subsistence farmers, with limited access to nutritious food and clean water. As a result, chronic pain, malnutrition (especially in children), and illnesses such as diabetes, dysentery, hepatitis, asthma, bronchitis, skin conditions, and parasitic infections are widespread.

This region also bears the scars of a civil war and genocide in the early 1980s, known as the “Scorched Earth Policy.” Many indigenous survivors remain displaced and continue to suffer from epidemic levels of post-traumatic stress and anxiety. Alarmingly, the area also has a high rate of abuse against indigenous Maya women, including domestic violence, incest, and rape. Acupuncture has proven effective in addressing these conditions, particularly through the use of NADA (auricular) and Battlefield Acupuncture techniques.
