Support Children's Literacy in Africa

Hello! I’m Sibongile Larissa, the proud author of “Ava Rose and Rudo.” I’m thrilled to share an initiative this holiday season that aims to spread joy and knowledge to children across Africa.

I was inspired to write this book by my niece, who is biracial and comes from a multicultural background. I want to ensure that more children see characters in stories that look like them, reflecting the beautiful diversity of our world. “Ava Rose and Rudo” is more than just a story; it teaches the values of compassion and kindness while celebrating cultural differences and promoting care for animals.

This holiday season, we are launching a special campaign in partnership with Cheerful Hearts Foundation and Patriots Ghana.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to purchase books for children in Africa. Here’s the plan to reach that goal:

- We aim to purchase and distribute paperback copies of “Ava Rose and Rudo” at $20 each (book cost + shipping & delivery) .

- Additionally, for every book sold, we’ll donate a copy to inspire a child in Africa.

$200 - 10kids

$500 - 25kids (half a class)

$1,000 - 50 kids (full class)

Imagine the smiles on the faces of these children as they hold their very first storybook! I'm sure many adults can recall the nostalgia of their first storybook, a treasured memory that sparks joy even years later. I still hold memories of my first Disney storybook - Cinderella.

This campaign is about creating those moments for the next generation, ensuring that children from all backgrounds have access to stories that teach them about kindness and empathy from a young age.

By supporting this fundraiser, you’ll help bridge the gap between privileged and underprivileged backgrounds, allowing every child to experience the joy of reading.
