Support for the Chanruang Family

About three months ago, our loved ones, Liz Chanruang and her fiancé Justin La Pointe from Toronto, Ontario received devastating news of Liz's father, Bounthom Chamreunsouk's health; he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. While this news was upsetting enough, the challenges for the Chanruang Family didn't end there.

 

Exactly four weeks later, Liz, who was 32 weeks pregnant at the time, was rushed to Humber River Hospital accompanied by her fiancé after an unexpected seizure. After being transferred to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, doctors discovered a large mass on Liz's brain and she was diagnosed with Brain Cancer (Glioma Astrocytoma grade 2).

This required her to have emergency craniotomy surgery, which was able to remove approximately 80% of the tumor. After several weeks of rehabilitation post-surgery, Liz and Justin welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Josie Chanruang, into the world on April 1st at 12:21pm, weighing 5 lbs 7 oz at 35 weeks old. Thankfully, Josie was delivered in good health.

 

While the birth of this little angel has brought the Chanruang Family so much joy, they now have a long road ahead of them. Both Liz and her father will now have to embark on the difficult journey of chemotherapy together.

 

Liz and her father are overwhelmed by the amount of love and support they have received from family and friends as they push through this challenging time.
