Support Chris Louis: A Father In Need of a Hand Up

Hello, this is a community fundraiser on behalf of Chris Louis, a 24-year-old father from Augusta, Georgia, who was recently arrested while trying to do something many of us take for granted: provide for his family.

On March 22, Chris walked with his three young children—ages 1, 6, and 10—to a local McDonald’s with a playground inside. He had a job interview nearby and, without a car or childcare, made the difficult decision to leave his kids in a safe, public place for a short time while he tried to secure work. A concerned customer called authorities, and Chris was arrested for "deprivation of a minor" upon returning after the interview.

Chris didn’t abandon his kids—he was doing the best he could in an impossible situation. He didn’t have a car, childcare, or a support system. What he did have was the will to change his family’s circumstances.

I don’t know Chris personally, but I know people like him—people who are doing the best they can with the hand they were dealt. That’s why I felt compelled to do something.

All funds raised here will go directly to Chris. Once he contacts us through this account, he will be guided through the steps to securely connect his bank account so that every dollar goes straight to him and his kids. We will make frequent updates as they happen to assure complete transparency.
