Help Kiyomi with fractured back, cancer treatments
Donation protected
I am writing on behalf of my friend Kiyomi, she could use your help today!
She is recovering from a debilitating compression fracture on her spine. Since Nov 5, she has been in level 10 pain most of the time, making it difficult to accomplish simple daily tasks like getting out of bed, standing, walking, getting dressed, going to the restroom and prepping food in the kitchen, to name a few.
On week 3, she started feeling some improvement, but then her legs started to cramp up every time she gets up from the bed or chair.
Her main focus is getting better sooner than later, but without certain therapies, recovery has been extremely slow-moving and painful.
Kiyomi needs to take time off work, since her duties include teaching movement classes and facilitating sound baths. She ran out of sick pay and doesn’t qualify for FMLA; she doesn’t have job security because she can’t return within a month, and work said they couldn’t guarantee her position. Kiyomi’s income for the past 5 years has been primarily used for medical bills and a large amount was recently invested in her wellness business. Her backup funds are depleted; these events led up to us creating this fundraiser.
You may know Kiyomi has been on a healing journey to release stage 4 breast cancer. Our goal today is to cover her immediate expenses while her back is recovering. Any funds received beyond the goal will be rolled over for cancer therapies. The first 5 tumors are not a concern, but the last scan showed 3 new tumors were trying to grow. She could use assistance in covering more treatments on a regular schedule.
We assessed that Kiyomi will need help with medical and monthly bills for at least 3 months, (Orthopedic Dr. said it could take that long to recover) and we are being conservative with our goal. Here’s the breakdown as of 11/28. Needs may change as she goes to more Doctor visits and gets more information; we will update you here.
Goal #1: $4,632
This will help offset her monthly bills of $1,082 and therapies that insurance doesn’t cover, such as Softwave treatments (8 sessions, $480), EE System (8 sessions, $395) & Lifewave phototherapy patches (3 month supply of Icewave $510). Kiyomi trusts these therapies and they have helped her recover in the past.
Kiyomi just got certified in Sacred Sound Healing, and she has been taking steps to officially launch her wellness business. This injury put a temporary halt on her plans moving forward, but with your help, she can get back on her feet again, literally!
It is Kiyomi’s mission to help empower people by tapping into their health and happiness. She has been in the holistic wellness industry for 11 years and the art industry all her life. She is designing so many cool things for her audience, she’s bursting with excitement to present her offerings to the world.
Kiyomi has donated to, volunteered for and helped many friends, clients and students over the years. Her amazing communities have helped her exponentially with her cancer fundraisers in the past, and thanks to their generosity, 2 tumors dissolved, 3 are inactive and she is still alive, contributing to society.
Any amount is appreciated, whether you can gift $5 or $500, every dollar counts!
Let’s come together and show her she is supported, so she can focus on recovery. We can’t wait to see what she is creating next!
Thank you,
Antoinette Rootsdawtah
