Supporting Our Beloved SMHA Volunteer Chris Weir
Donation protected
In the heart of Stittsville's tight-knit community, there is a volunteer who has selflessly dedicated years of their life to shaping the future of our young athletes through Stittsville Minor Hockey. This extraordinary individual, whose unwavering passion and commitment have touched the lives of countless children and families, now faces a challenging battle of their own.
For years, Chris Weir was the backbone of Stittsville Minor Hockey's Competitive Program, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every child had the opportunity to experience the joy of playing hockey. Whether it was organizing leagues, managing multiple teams, or mentoring young players, Chris’ impact has been immeasurable, leaving an indelible mark on the hockey community.
However, fate has dealt Chris a cruel blow, as our beloved friend has been struck by a serious illness that has left him and his family facing ongoing medical expenses. At 56 years old, Chris has been diagnosed with a very rare neurodegenerative disease that impacts him both physically and mentally requiring 24-hour medical care. As Chris’ family now needs to focus on his well-being, we, as a united community, feel compelled to step up and return the kindness, dedication, and love Chris has shown us throughout the years.
Together, we can rally around Chris and his family, easing the burden of treatment costs, medical equipment and daily expenses. Our collective support will not only demonstrate our gratitude for his selfless service but also provide a much-needed source of strength and comfort during these challenging times.
Join us in showing our appreciation for this extraordinary individual by contributing to our GoFundMe campaign. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference and remind Chris and his family that they are not alone in this fight.
Let's unite as a community, extending our helping hands to the person who has always been there for us. Together, we can make a profound impact and show that the Stittsville community stands strong, compassionate, and unwavering in the face of adversity.
Thank you for supporting our longtime friend and volunteer.
