Support SF Eagle Bars’ Recovery and Workers
Donation protected
On Monday, November 18, shortly after midnight, the SF Eagle Bar was the victim of a burglary that resulted in significant property damage and the theft of a large amount of cash.
We are still working out what was stolen, what can be repaired, and what is gone forever. In the meantime, we need your help. Right now, we need to cover expenses, pay staff, and keep our doors open for San Francisco's LGBT and Leather communities.
We are asking for donations to cover payroll expenses for our 30+ staff members, replenish bar supplies, and conduct emergency repairs so that we can reopen safely as soon as possible. With a Sunday Beer Bust fundraiser scheduled for this weekend, we are prioritizing rebuilding so that we can support our queer nonprofits who rely on the SF Eagle Bar to host vital fundraising events.
This burglary is a blow to our sense of safety and ability to serve our community, but we know we can rely on our patrons and friends to help us stay afloat. The theft and damages come at a particularly challenging time, as our bar sales slow ~35% during the holiday season. Your help is essential to enable the SF Eagle Bar to soar again.
As a landmark San Francisco queer business and a cornerstone in the LGBT and Leather communities, the SF Eagle Bar is committed to staying open in the face of these crimes. In 2024, the Eagle helped more than 50 queer nonprofits raise over $80,000, and we are committed to persevering through adversity to increase our support in 2025! In addition, we were in the midst of a renovation to improve ADA accessibility throughout the bar, and this burglary only strengthens our resolve to continue these plans.
Thank you for your support. Please contact us with any questions or offers of support.
