Surgeries to save Rodolfo's life

Hello! My name is Vera and I am raising funds for our dear friend Rodolfo, who needs surgery for the second time due to a cerebral infarction that caused a large Aneurysm in his brain. Rodolfo, a 54 years old beekeeper, has been living for many years with his 3 daughters Mathilda, Prem and Jaya and his wife Cécile in the Mountains of Oaxaca in Mexico. On their ranch, far away from town, they have been living a very simple and rustic life. My husband and I met them 15 years ago here in Mexico and since then, we have been living close to each other and our children have been growing up very close to theirs. About a month ago, Rodolfo got sick to his stomach, starting with nauseas, high fever and a very intense headache. His family cared for him day and night for many days, but his condition did not really improve. He no longer got up or moved on his own and did not want to eat or drink water. When he began to lose his memory, entering a state of confusion, they took him to the hospital for examinations. In the last 2 weeks he needed 2 operations, one for hydrocephalus and another very delicate one to close a large Aneurysm over a cerebral artery that could explode at any moment and cause immediate death. For that, a Neurosurgeon from Mexico City had to come because it was too risky to move Rodolfo somewhere else. Only the 2 operations alone cost them 30'000 Euros. His family, with very few resources, had to borrow a lot of money from friends and family and his daughters put in all the money they had. He is still hospitalized for a few more days and every day at the hospital is very costly. His recovery will last at least 6 to 12 months until it can be seen if the damaged parts of his brain will recover. The family cannot return to their ranch because their place is too far away, difficult to get to and from, and too rustic for the care he needs.

All the money collected from this fundraising will help them tremendously to pay for all the hospital expenses, return the money borrowed for the operations, the therapies he will need to recover his memory and understanding and to pay the rent for the apartment in the city, where they live at the moment.
