Synia Carroll's First Jazz CD

Hello! For those of you who may not know me, my name is Synia Carroll. Singing has always been a vital part of my life. As a little girl I constantly made up songs and always found myself harmonizing to music on the radio and on the family ‘stereo.’ As a teen I learned to play folk guitar to accompany my singing. During and after college I sang in choirs and performed with R&B, SOCA, and World Beat groups.  Later, when I started a family, I focused my energies on raising and providing for my children and began a rewarding career as a teacher.  In recent years, the need to return to my musical soul has grown more and more compelling. Hosts of friends and my grown children have encouraged me to pursue opportunities to sing…. and so I have!



Two years ago, when I moved to Sarasota, Florida I seriously began to explore Jazz. Something magical occurred. It was as if I had finally found my true voice. Jazz brought to me an energy unlike any music I had ever sung before. My heart and voice responded, doing melodic and rhythmic turns I didn’t even know I was capable of.  I was told by fellow musicians that I was ‘intuitive’ and a ‘natural’.  All I knew was that I had fallen in love.

This year has presented more opportunities than I ever imagined possible and I am so honored and humbled by the positive support and recognition I’ve received from a growing audience at concerts and other venues. More and more often people have asked me where they can get a CD of my music. I have always had to explain that I don’t have one. Not YET! 
Now I am ready for that next step. I will produce my first CD with your support and that of a number of fantastic musicians headed by piano great, Billy Marcus!


This Go Fund Me campaign will make it possible for me to reach my goal of releasing my CD by October of this year. It will allow me to cover a full range of costs including, but not limited to, musicians, licensure of songs, arrangements, studio time, engineering & master production, CD production, packaging and distribution. It also includes support for photography, graphics, shipping and promotion. Whew!  Who knew there was so much involved!

The fund raising campaign will last three-months, ending on August 1st.  The recording sessions will be scheduled for later that month, followed by mixing and creating the final Master.  My goal is to have the finished product by mid-September and then a formal CD Release Party early in October at the Blue Rooster in Sarasota.

I am so excited about this next big step in my career! What a journey this has been! Let me thank you in advance for your support.
