TQ Beating Colon Cancer #TQSTRONG
TQ is an active 38 year old vegan, a loving wife, and wonderful mom to 4 children. Her youngest (2yrs) is a relative's baby who the Evans have been in the process of adopting from the foster care system since birth. She is a birth doula, a full-time HR professional, and an entrepreneur. She recently invented and launched a new product called Prende Pants to help new moms heal and recover after birth (view more: www.prendepants.com ).
TQ often volunteers in her community, organizes clothing drives for low-income students and creates care packages for poverty stricken countries in need. She is one of the happiest, healthiest and most positive person that you could know and is absolutely a friend to everyone she meets.
On Thursday, June 13th TQ's husband Adam rushed her to the ER. The doctors found a golfball sized tumor (Stage 4 Colon Cancer) in her colon and performed emergency 7 hour surgery to remove it. The surgery was a success, however, biopsies revealed that the cancer had traveled to other organs. TQ has zero family history of cancer and absolutely NO previous medical problems or symptoms. She will have to wear a colostomy bag for 6+ months, as well as endure chemotherapy and additional surgeries.
Her husband Adam is a public school educator, so the Evans family is fortunate enough to have health insurance to help cover most of the costs (which have already reached 6 figures in less than 2 weeks). Unfortunately, insurance does not cover everything, and they are looking at major additional costs as they begin these life-saving treatments.
They recently moved to Richmond, VA where they have no family in town. We are hoping this Gofundme will help ease the burden of these medical costs as she enters this difficult journey.
As an alternate option, if you’d like to help cover day to day items to help make their lives a little easier, (like a babysitter for quiet time following chemo treatments, a professional house cleaner, or an in-home massage to help with the post-surgery soreness, etc.) you’ll find links to TQ’s Venmo and cashapp below.

TQ says that God brought this baby to her in a dream, and she knew that she had to try to save her from the foster system.
