Tammy's Cancel Her Cancer Fund

Hello Friends and Family,
This is not something that is easy for our family, especially our mother. However, we have come to find ourselves in a very challenging situation.
Over the last couple of months, we have been going from doctor to doctor, in hopes of understanding what is causing our mother (Tammy Padgett) to be so sick.
After countless doctor visits, biopsy, tests, scans of all sorts and other various medical related procedures.
We have, unfortunately discovered our mother has a very, very serious condition. Doctors informed us she has a large tumor on her Cervix, that tested positive for stage three cancer. The golf ball sized tumor, is causing other serious health conditions. Before the doctors started treatment they suggested one more test. A PET (Positron Emission Tomograph) scan. This test allows the doctor to see if the cancer has spread to any other areas of her body. After completing the scan the doctors let us know we would receive the results within 24hrs.
When the 24hrs (which felt like an eternity) had passed we received the results back from the doctors office. Our (Jeremy, Rebekah, Hannah, and Dad) hearts sank lower than imaginable. The results weren't what we had all been hopeful for. The doctor advised us, mom's cancer had spread beyond the tumor on her cervix into her lungs, as stage 4B cancer. At this point the cancer has infected much more of her internal organs than could be treated by the radiologist's initial plan of attack. The oncologist (cancer specialist) and other specialists we're working with have been more than amazing and are doing all they can to get her better. The doctors have collaborated and devised an intensive regimen of chemotherapy to help her fight this cancer and get her back to the way, all of us, including yourself, know her. Its safe to say we all know her for being fun, happy, appreciative, funny, humble, kind, a huge part of our community (in her church and our hometown) and completely selfless.
With the treatment plan that has been implemented, we have faith in God and the healthcare system that everything will be OK. These treatments will not only leave our mother exhausted and ill but also she will face skin discoloration, mass amounts of weight loss and complete hair loss and the purchase of a wig is a very real reality. That being said, we are focusing all our faith and hopefulness in the treatments, to cancel her cancer! However, the treatment will include 18 weeks of intense chemotherapy, an unmeasurable number of doctor visits and an advanced regimen of high cost medications that is far more intense than first anticipated. As you can probably imagine, this has proven to be a very costly excursion. To make things worse, our mother's health insurance dropped her and all the expenses to date, have been paid by our mom and dad. The medical expenses that have accrued thus far have well exceed anything we thought imaginable and we have only scratched the surface of this emotional/financial journey back to a healthy, happy life for mom.
Having read everything, you probably have already come to realize, we are going to be experiencing hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical expenses to get mom back to her healthy , amazing self. It is very hard to ask our family and friends for any kind of help, especially for mom and dad, since they are always "the helpers"and "the givers". But at the same time, these expenses are wearing on not only on us but also on our our parents and family. No matter how hard it is to say, we need help.
Mom has done so much for us , our dad, her church, her friends, our community and our family. So lets do anything we can to return the favor and turn this tragic event into something positive. Lets show mom how large her support system is and how much we love her and how many of us stand behind her and are there to help her fight though this.
Outside of prayers and positive thoughts anything to help relieve our family's financial burden will be greatly appreciated.
From all of us and our family, thank you in advance for your continuous support and prayers, during this difficult time. We love you all.
