Edgardo's NEW CD: Tatuajes Del Alma

My name is Edgardo Cambon, I am a Uruguayan born percussionist, lead singer, composer and Band leader.

In 1986 I started my Salsa-Latin Jazz Band "CANDELA"  with the intention to play and record original Salsa music in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thirty years later 3 recordings have materialize out of that dream, the first one on vinyl format!
 
We are now in the recording stages of our 4th production entitled "Tatuajes Del Alma" (Tatoos of The Soul) with more studio time already booked in May and June.

The CD includes many danceable styles of Latin Music, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Chá, Guajira, as well as the more current styles of Cuban Timba and Dominican Bachata. This musical pallet also draws inspiration from
Uruguayan Candombe (my home town main rhythm) and even Brazilean Samba, allowing me to say that "Tatuajes Del Alma" is not just another Salsa CD, but a collage of my musical journey.

September 14th is our CD release concert at Yerba Buena Gardens in the beautiful city of San Francisco, our home base. Followed by several local and abroad performances. 

But the continuation of this recording depends on your generosity, and the funds need to be raised before June 30-2016 in order for us to have the final product by September at our CD release! 

All my previous Cds have been self produced.

On this one I am simply depending on you, our incredible fans to help me financially to bring this project alive, not as a donation, but simply buying the CD ahead of its release, so we can pay the artists involved, as well as studio time, art work, manufacturing, etc.. 

The musicians participating on this album are all internationally recognized for their talent, and the list includes: Marco Diaz and Julio De La Cruz on piano, Camilo Landau on Guitar, David Belove and Ernesto Mazar on bass, trombonists Doug Beavers, Jeff Cressman and Jamie Dubberley, Charlie Gurke on Sax, flutist Miguel Martinez, Omar Ledezma on Timbales, and very special guests: Harvey Wainaple on Sax and Clarinet, Marcos Silva on piano, Calixto Oviedo (NG, Cubanismo, Afro-Cuban All Stars) on drums, many other "surprise" artist, and of course yours truly, Edgardo Cambón on Congas and Lead Vocals. 

The list of arrangers is equally impressive: Marcos Silva, Charlie Gurke, John Calloway, Doug Beavers, Marco Diaz and more.

This rich mixture of styles, backgrounds and shared musical experiences will result in a unique recording which celebrates Bay Area's Salsa and Latin Music for the last 30 years!

I personally want to THANK YOU for these 3 decades of amazing support, always showing up at the concerts, buying our previous CDs, and dancing and listening to our music.
