Team Amal - Trekking Snowdon for Charity

UPDATE: We have now added an additional cause to support the Emergency Earthquake Appeal for the victims and families affected via Islamic Help. We have all been deeply affected by the horrific incident and the increasing death toll has shaken us to the core SubhanAllah.

Assalamu alaykum

We are 'Team Amal.' Five brave souls aged between 13-15 about to take on a crazy challenge and we really need your help today!

As part of our Servitude Youth Leadership Programme, we have taken on a challenge of an 80,000 step trek to climb Mount Snowdonia.

We have pledged to raise as much money as possible before Ramadan to be distributed to the 5 worthy causes below:

#1 To fund the construction of a masjid in Uganda in memory of our fellow student, Umarah Ahmed.

This is one that is the closest to our hearts. On the 10th August 2022, Umarah suffered a sudden anaphylactic shock and passed away, leaving her friends and family devastated. She was one of us, a 15 year old Muslim girl, who was part of this very leadership programme. Umarah was known as a kind, bubbly soul, and a passionate advocate for Palestinian rights. She infused everything she did with passion and her contagious smile.

In Umarah's name and taking a leaf from her passion, we hope to sow the seeds of change for those in need, and make a difference in the lives of others for the sake of Allah (swt). By raising this money we hope to ease her journey into the next life and aid her in reaching jannatul firdaous, where we pray she is reunited with her loved ones, Ameen.

#2 Building water wells in Burma and the Philippines. The Prophet (saw) said ‘the best charity is giving water to drink'.

#3 Providing Ramadan food packs for families in Bangladesh

#4 Sponsoring our little brothers and sisters in dire need via Lonely Orphans.

#5 Funding Sunnah Trust to be able to continue running Servitude Youth Leadership Programme for the next year in 2024.

We will be climbing Mount Snowdonia on Saturday 29th April 2023 and would really appreciate your help and support.
