Team Canada 2024 - International Meeting of Young Beekeepers

In December of this year three young beekeepers from Ontario will be representing Canada at the 13th International Meeting of Young Beekeepers (IMYB). They, along with participants from 20 other countries will be testing their beekeeping knowledge and learning about beekeeping in other countries. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these young beekeepers to represent their country at the largest international meeting for young beekeepers worldwide.

The members of Team Canada 2024 are Heidi (15) from Cavan, Rebecca (17) from Pontyp0ol and Ben (17) from Trent Hills. They will be traveling with two chaperones. The estimated cost for this trip is $12,000.

The competition consists of practical as well as academic disciplines and it tests the knowledge and skills of young participants. However, the focus of the meetings is not just the competition itself, but to further educate young beekeepers, promote the idea of beekeeping best practices among them and to provide them with new social and cultural experiences.

All funds raised will be used to support team registration fees and travel costs for three team members and two chaperones.
