Jaidas Journey

Jaida Zendaya Galindo born February 27th, 2018. Jaida is a micropremie, birth weight 1.12 pounds 804 grams 13 inches long. This warrior princess was born at 28 weeks gestation. Jaida was a twin, unfortunately her twin didn't make it. Jaida kept growing even though all the odds were against her, she has being fighting ever since then! Jaida was in the NICU for 4 months. She had 1 blood transfusion March 16th. Jaida a went into Congestive Heart Failure twice while in the NICU. We thought we were going to loose her. I begged God and the doctors to do everything they could so we wouldn't loose our miracle warrior.
Jaida is currently not allowed to be part of a lot of things. She is at risk of catching absolutely anything, and put her back in the hospital. A simple cold could put her in the hospital for at least 2 weeks. Mommy Daddy and big brother have done everything they can to keep her safe. Mommy is literally home 24/7 with Jaida. We only go out for doctors appointments which consist of 5 specialist and her pediatrician that Jaida has to see every other week.Jaida was diagnosed even before being born with IUGR, they let us know that Mommy wasn't giving her enough nutrients to grow like other babies. Unfortunately Mommy has Diabetes and high blood pressure which gave her Preeclampsia. The high risk physician and the OBGYN decided it was unsafe for both Jaida and Mommy to continue with this pregnancy. That is when this incredible Gods miracle was born. 2 weeks later we were notified that Jaida had 3 holes in her heart ( ASD, VSD,PDA). The PDA was expected to close with time as she grew. The other 2 murmurs will not close with out major surgery. Jaida is 6 months 2 weeks and weighs 7.13 pounds. Jaida has been given her surgery date which is September 21st, 2018. Before the surgery can be done, she needs a heart catheter. This will determine if Jaida is strong enough to handle open heart surgery. The surgery unfortunately can not be done here in El Paso, we are being sent to San Antonio. Mommy will have to fly with Jaida, because of her condition she can not be in long drives. It isn't safe. Mommy and Daddy will be going with Jaida  her surgery, however big brother will have to stay with Abuela and Tata (Grandparents). Mommy will stay as long as Jaida needs to safely recover and come back to her family that loves her so much. We prayed for Jaida even before she was born. Jaida is the definition of Gods mighty miracle. A fighter!!
