Team Pedal for Pets/Wendy Maguire

I founded Pedal for Pets 5 years ago with an epiphany that waiting for someone else to do something to end the sufferng of animals was like doing nothing at all.   The message became loud and clear that NOW was the time for me to stand up (or sit on a bike!) and help end the suffering and needless killing of the unwanted and throw away pets in our country.  
I Started with a 300 mile bike ride with my son Robbie from Senoia to Savannah Ga to raise funds and awareness for free and low cost spay/neuter services for pets in need, with or without homes.   in June of 2015 we had 44 cyclists joining us on the fifth annual 3 day ride!
Since inception, Pedal for Pets became a 501c(3) and
I have raised over $150,000.00 from cash donations, pet food contributions and kennel supplies.  Pedal for Pets is making a huge difference in Georgia as well as our neighboring Southern States,  spreading our reach  with financial aid and goods to better the lives of the souls with no voice.  
Now in 2016, I have the opportunity to take Pedal for Pets Across the Country (and world!) by being a member of the third, all woman 8 person Team! We are Team Pedal for Pets, RAAM Team and this race is considered to be the most challenging bike race in the world!  (yikes!)  
In the RAAM  forum, the message and the funding will be taken to new heights!  The thought of being able to donate MORE MONEY to the shelters, groups and individuals with pets in need is so exciting!  
The need is real, the awarenss is not...Every 10 seconds, another innocent life of a puppy, dog, kitten and cat are being euthanized for no other reason than they exist.
