Teens 2 The Bus March for Our Lives
Donation protected
We need your help to March for Our Lives
As teens, we want to go to Washington DC to take part in the March for Our Lives event.
Help us make change
We are teens from Wright Middle School working to make this happen. [That’s us in the picture, see more about our school below ].
We are going to break violence
We are going to be heard. We're going to support our peers. And we are going to honor and acknowledge the thousands, tens of thousands of kids; kids just like us, who have been threatened, who have experienced -- And who truly need a break; a real respite from-- violence.
Violence at school, violence in speech, violence on the net, violence in actions, even violence at home. And yes, sometimes violence, when we're just walking back home eating some Skittles.
It's all violence, against us.
Any amount helps us make change and be heard
So we'll take as many teens as we have the funds for. Our prior planning tells us it will cost $300 per kid for us to make this important trek.
For sure, we will bring as many kids as we raise funds for. Here’s how our kids go by goals breakdown:
$900 = 3 - 4 kids by car
$1500= 5-6 kids by suv
$2400 7-8 kids van
$3000 = 10 kids by passenger van
$5000=17 kids for the 17 you get what we're feeling
$8000= 50 kids by bus
$17000=110 kids by more buses
$48000=320 kids = our entire school dream fearlessly, right?
ANY dollar amount will make change happen for us!
We we don’t have much time to raise the funds. We are leaving March 22. So please, if you could, donate now.
Thanks for helping us make this happen. We super appreciate it!
And please, help us get the word out!
Facebook it, Twitter for us, SnapChat, text our cause. Talk to your friends, your people, what ever you can do. Again, thank you.
More About Our School
Our school is named after Reverend James C. Wright, a local pastor AND changemaker. As students we've learned that Reverend Wright believed in making things happen. We are empowered by this.
During his time, he took up the issue of homelessness and hunger by sleeping on the streets; experiencing homelessness as no human being should. This action started a food pantry which still operates today. We know we are honoring him, his work and our school by BEING ACTIVE.
Also, at Wright, we also just happen to be our community's most diverse and inclusive school: socially, economically, racially and by gender. A fact , as teens, we are proud of. We are the future, right now.
That said, even as teens, we are aware that issues like violence, mental health, safety, bullying, and divisiveness will disproportionately affect us without the change we believe in.
And last but not least we have to
Shout out to Mr. Wuellner and Ms. Rowley, our teachers, who took us seriously and jumped in-- including hooking us up with Kobussen Buses who will charter us if we reach the bus level of our goals.
Yes, we’d like to bring our entire school. You can help us.
