Most of you know that our own Teri Metcalf has not been feeling well for quite some time and has been in the hospital for about 6 weeks. Although she is pretty private about her personal stuff, I had a visit with her and she gave me permission to share with you.
Unfortunately we have learned that the cancer she fought and beat before has returned in a different area; behind and possibly on her pancreas. She has had a stomach/intestine surgery; a form of a bypass and a stint put in her liver due to a blockage. She will hopefully be able to go home in a few days and then will meet with her oncologist to make a plan for chemo and radiation again.
She has exhausted her vacation and sick time bank with her hospital stay and will be without multiple pay checks before her long term leave kicks in. Not to mention; I know I don't need to tell you how costly medical expenses are, even with insurance.
