He is in rehab but has a long way to go

This is pic of my son Michael, aka “the cookie guy” to his a friends in Arizona. Full of life and smiling as he entertains his co-workers and friends. On Friday, 12/29/2023, he was in a serious accident.
Starting with the positive, so far, he has no head, neck, or spine injuries. He was fully conscious and coherent when they were loading him to the ambulance and at the hospital. But, he has some serious injuries and a very long recovery ahead of him. His injuries include multiple fractures in both arms, major damage to his right wrist, compound fracture in his left arm. Dislocated left hip along with a fracture, fracture in the right femur and shattered right knee, fracture ribs and broken nose. Since Friday the 29th he has undergone gone 5 surgeries in 4 days. Michael will be in the hospital for at least a week and then will be transferred to a rehab center. He won’t be able support his own weight for a while. Most of his injuries are expected to heal in 6 - 12 weeks, however, it can take up to a year for his leg. Arizona has no state disability like we do in California. I’m looking into fed assistance and benefits along with any possible VA benefits. Short term, keeping up with his bills and paying his rent is the most important. Any medical expenses we cannot get covered will fall on Michael. I will be taking family leave to go out and take care of him when it is most beneficial. We have a very long road ahead of us and would appreciate any support you can provide. Please call or text if you want additional information or have questions. We appreciate any support you can provide. I thank each of you for being in our lives
