The "Make it Raines" Fundraiser
Donation protected
The Raines family needs our help. Please watch this video (which Matt thoughtfully subtitled) to get the story about his wife, Julie, and her sudden and surprising bout with a condition called Beri Beri. I'm going to take some time here to stress an issue that Matt, in his even-tempered grace and strength, doesn't emphasize enough in the video. They are in need of financial assistance. Julie had just started a job in the weeks before she was hospitalized, and was therefore let go during her trial-period leaving grossly insufficient health coverage. Matt, being her primary caretaker, cannot leave her side for an extended period of time; her recovery, as well as the care for their son, has become his full-time job. The massive stack of medical bills they are accruing makes it nearly impossible for the day-to-day expenses to get handled. Matt's parents have stepped up (big time) to help, but their help needs our help. There will be a fundraiser in early 2019, but until then please do what you can to help. If you know Matt and Julie, you know they have an amazing strength of character and would give their last dime to help any of their people. You also know they are tough, focused and determined. You probably also know that Julie is a tough mama. As Matt says in the video, she will walk again!
Peace and love to you all,
Shane
