Zoot’s Avalanche Rescue Dog Fund

Donation protected
After Zoot’s emergency surgery the summer before he died, people generously donated to cover his large vet bill and the remainder was used to start a fund for the support of all of our Aspen Snowmass avalanche dogs. Zoot’s vet bills and bills from some of the other Aspen Snowmass dogs (including Zaugg's rock swallowing incident) have now depleted that fund and I’m hoping to raise more money to help replenish the fund for the team. The other dog teams and I will greatly appreciate any help!

This fund will also help support Micheal Ferrara's search and rescue dogs that were left behind when he died. The emergency vet bills after the accident were generously covered by the Pitkin County Coroner's office. The dogs are now healthy and much happier than they were in the days following the accident and the loss of their pack leader. We are now focused on finding them the perfect, loving home together, and hopefully where Eiger, the young one, can continue his search and rescue training and work. But most important is that they stay together in a loving home.

The Zoot Fund is not yet a 501.3c but once we have the funds replenished through this and other fundraising ideas, we will get that paperwork finished and filed.

I am honored that Zoot can leave this fund as his legacy. Thank you so much.
