The power of people, together.

Donation protected
This is the story of my farm and my struggle to own it, I had a plan to do just that without help, but a broken furnace, new additional bills, buying a car, and demands for money from a man who let my elderly grandmother a disabled man and a minor go without heat through the heart of the coldest part of winter and the government shut down ended that plan, so now I turn to you.

I'm not asking everyone who sees this to donate, I'm asking, those who can spare one dollar, please consider it, if you can't spare a dollar, please, share this link.
I'm trying to see if a large number of people, making small donations that nearly anyone can afford ($1-$2) can achieve what a very few large donations can.

I want to see if we can get this to go viral, not just because I want the chance to live out my dream on my own small farm, but because I think in todays world, we all need to recognize that we are all still people, we all still matter, we all still dream, hope and care, and together, we can make miracles happen.

As you will read going through this, I want this to become real, more than anything I ever have, not just to give my grandmother a home for the rest of her life, not just to raise a family here, but because this is my dream, my calling and I am moved to make it real. If you can't donate just $2.00, please just share this then, all I want it for everyone who sees it to donate a dollar, maybe 2 at most. No great contributions, no big wads of cash, just a dollar or two, no more. If I can get this to reach even a few thousand people, I will achieve my goals. Do you realize how amazing that is? That we are afforded such a chance to tell our story and capture an audience.

For your reading, this is my story. Please, read it all.

9 Years ago I flew home from Oregon to Maine, I was sick, thought I had bronchitis, it was the beginning of a wild journey that has changed my life forever.

My lungs collapsed, I passed out and a few hours later my family was being told there was nothing that could be done for me. They couldn't find a pulse or an O2 level, my liver had failed, my body was filled with fluid from edema, ascites and pneumonia. I was in a full on hepatic encephalopathy coma.

Fast forward 9 years, I am making it by with my 88 yr old grandmother in tow, we had the perfect plan laid out, borrow a little, reserve one months rent and put a down payment on this farm. I've put $43,000 into it since we moved in and want to finance the rest, it would reduce my monthly payments by nearly half, that along with some belt tightening and this would be mine.

Until two unforeseen disasters happen, my furnace dies on the coldest day of winter so far, there goes the plans for money, and, the childish nonsense of the government shutdown, with puts me and unfortunately the landowner and landlord in an uneasy holding pattern.

This home is my dream, to have a self sustaining farm, goats, chickens, rabbits, a large garden for produce, a small greenhouse and the chance to make this place a home. It's a "fixer upper" lots of work needs to be done, from a new furnace and water tank, to remodeling, re-plumbing everything, re-wiring and all other sorts of fun. But, that IS the fun, it will be mine, to make into my own.

I've lost loved ones in my time here, my fiance left me, but this house remains my focus. I live here with my grandmother who I swore I would not ever let die alone in some home, she's 88 and I turn 50 in 2019, and still I have energy, focus and hope for my future here.

Harvest some eggs, some milk, lots of produce from the garden, take time to maybe even go fishing with my uncle and bring home some wild brook trout while we glory in the beauty that God gave us known as Maine/

I'm not asking anyone to buy the place for me, but, rent has been so high, the windows drafty, the furnace old and inefficient, that I'm left with no way to save money month to month. Cutting my bills back, saving $600 each month going from a rental to a loan payment will be my first leap forward into financial freedom.

I'm not asking for a hand out, merely a hand up so I can do the hard work myself. Please, if you can, help me fulfill a little dream.

$45000 is not chump change, I realize that, but between buying a car, having to have wood delivered for 3 months and sky high electric bills from having to use to space heaters, I am not just tapped but overdrawn, and now I need to boy oil again and need to put money down on a plot of land and put a modular or mobile home on it.

What I want here is a home, for my grandmother to rest and be at peace in for the rest of her days, I want a small farm to feed us and nurture the family I will start here. But I need you people, just one dollar each can bring my dream true. I this world of jaded anger, hate, misunderstandings, we can all still come together and work miracles when we are moved by love to do so.

Please, just one dollar.
