My brothers home. James woke to banging on the door 2am Monday morning. "Get out, Fire!" They grabbed a few changes of cloths, the dog and 4 of the 5 cats. They took off in their 2 cars with their daughter, flames behind them in the neighborhood.
The next day they returned. Making their way through barakades, their neighborhood gone, their smoldering home rubble. The only thing standing was the cement Buddha at the front door.
They have eachother. But they need more than that. They need a place to live in the Santa Rosa area. They need funds to keep life going. The mortgage will still need to be paid even though there's nothing left but ash.
I'm far away in Maine, what can I do to help? I can ask my friends and family for support.
