The Link Ensemble Inaugural Season
Donation protected
We are teachers, professors and church musicians. We are singers who work hard every day to perfect our craft. Together, we make up The Link Ensemble, a 16-voice professional vocal ensemble, and we seek to provide the greater NW Arkansas community with the highest level of vocal chamber music. Our Artistic Director is Dr. Stephen Caldwell, also the Director of Choral Activities at The University of Arkansas.
We believe that while there are many opportunities in NW Arkansas for students and amateur musicians of all ages, our area lacks an outlet for professional singers with significant experience and polished musicianship. We know that there is a market here for classical music and that the intelligent audiences in this area love innovative programming. We have a perfect opportunity to create stimulating and accessible live experiences for the people of this region while learning and performing music that feeds our souls and challenges our minds. We want to perform a diverse repertoire, featuring everything from the early Renaissance to the contemporary, with accurate performance practice, impeccable musicianship and a healthy sense of joy.
Our plan is to create a season consisting of four concerts with four 2-hour rehearsals per concert. Our first performance is at 7:30 pm on August 8, 2015 at First United Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville, AR. We will sing works by Palestrina, Janequin, Marenzio, Monteverdi, Gorecki, Lauridsen and Swingle (the most interesting Arkansas Traveler you have ever heard!) – a varied and exciting offering for sure!
Unfortunately, producing live classical music is expensive. Each singer will receive $200 per concert. This includes the actual performance, rehearsal time and travel expenses (some of our singers are traveling from as far as Conway, AR and Joplin, MO). We need to account for the cost of purchasing music and performance space rental, the expense of establishing our group as a non-profit, and general overhead fees (printing posters and programs, receptions, etc.).
This is where you can help. We are asking for your financial support in order to make our inaugural season a success. Any amount you contribute will help bring professional vocal music to NW Arkansas and hopefully, make a lasting artistic impact in our community.

In return for your generous contribution, please accept the gifts listed in the "Rewards" section (in addition to recognition in our printed programs).
