On July 11th, 2019, the Morgan community and Latinx Student Family lost the life of Manuel ‘Manny’ Luis Jr. to senseless gun violence in Baltimore, MD. Manny was a sophomore Business Administration major, and the most vibrant, outgoing, radiant, and motivational student leader and mentor. His determination to bridge the gap between students, communities, and cultures impacted hundreds of students and families both on and off campus. He took on the role of a leader, a mentor, an ambassador, a team player, a friend, a counselor, a scholar, among others. His selflessness and continuos service to others exemplified the qualities that many who met him aspired to acquire. His smile could brighten the day, his words uplifted, and his presences filled the room with happiness and positivity. Manny formed part of Morgan State University’s Latinx Student Association, where he was pronounced Mister LSA prior to his passing, and is still honored as such. In honor of Manny, the Latinx Student Association Family has announced The Manuel Luis Jr. Scholarship Fund. A Scholarship whose Main purpose is to keep Mannys name alive for decades to come. Any Donation no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated
