Keeping Families Together

More than 1 million Temporary Protected Status (TPS) families across the U.S. are in danger of deportation, family separation, losing their jobs and health care, or continuing their education. THEY NEED YOUR HELP!

To continue our fight to keep our families together and educate more people about the impossible circumstances that TPS holders are thrust into, we are making a new documentary, 'The Next Dream; TPS Histories'. The documentary will be an educational tool about TPS families and their contribution to the U.S.

This short documentary will be shown at TPS campaigns nationwide and sent to local and national lawmakers. It will also help raise more money for the National TPS Alliance in the next four years. WILL YOU PLEASE HELP US? Any amount will be a great help.

The Boston Experimental Theatre, in coordination with the Massachusetts TPS Committee 501(c)(3), is making a documentary in support of the TPS campaigns nationwide. We have collected a little money from our pockets to start the process, and we need at least another $10,000 to finish the movie.

In 2018-2019, with the support of many individuals like YOU, we made a play and a documentary (The Last Dream) that became a crucial asset to the TPS campaigns, helping them continue their fight during the first presidency of Donald Trump. Both the play and the documentary were shown at many places around the country, including the U.S. Congress, Boston City Hall, Harvard University, Boston University, Emerson College, and at the Imagination Stage in Maryland. They have asked us to help them again by making another documentary, as the stakes are much higher now. Many of us work as volunteers and spend money from our pockets, but we still need more money for a compelling documentary. It can help us rent camera lenses, pay for transportation, rent the necessary lights for indoor shooting and microphones for outdoor filming, hire professional editors and videographers, or buy lunch or coffee for the crew. ANY AMOUNT WILL BE A HUGE HELP.

Our last project, 'The Last Dream' won The National Award for Best Community Media Production for Activism (2020) and was nominated for the Emmy Awards (2020). To learn more about The Last Dream, watch the trailer and the full movie, click here.
