Hello Family, Friends and Strangers,

 

 

Here is a little bit about Amy and myself, we have been married going on almost 9 years in November and together for over 12 years. Even though I desperately always wanted children and Amy couldn’t have any, I married her knowing that dream may never come true. Amy was born with a birth defect called Turners Syndrome. One of the major defects is not having ovaries. We started researching IVF and found out our insurance company didn’t cover any bills because we weren’t using Amy’s eggs. In this process we were told it would cost over $30,000.00 and that Amy was only allowed to have one egg implanted for this price. After weighing our options we decided to try it.

It took us 7 years of saving and over $30,000.00 for our first attempt at IVF and it was a long, painful, and a very emotional process. After the first attempt we were blessed with our beautiful son Dennis Jr. We decided to keep the other donor eggs frozen in a storage which costs us $900.00 per year.

It was both of our dream and wish to expand the family. In March of this year we decided that we would try and have a second child. This time it would cost $7,500.00 to implant one of our previously frozen donor eggs. We started the process on August 4th and again there was more pain, debt, but this time heartbreaking failure. The first pregnancy test numbers came in very low and after the 3rd test we found out that Amy was not pregnant.

            We are now turning to our friends and family for their amazing generosity and relying on the kindness of complete strangers. We are asking for help during this time after our failed IVF attempt. Again, insurance does not cover this procedure and we would like one more desperate attempt to expand our family.
