This year we are taking climate change to schools

**Note from campaign organizer: I am sponsoring this campaign because I so strongly believe in the amazing work of Nyombi Morris that I have seen over the last few years. Others believe in him too as he was listed as an "Environmentalist of Tomorrow by CNN in Nov. 2021
You can read more about his journey to climate activism here:
You can hear him speak in his own words here:
I am proud and humbled to support Nyombi as we here in the US must be leaders in addressing our climate emergency and also do all we can to support the countries least responsible for, but impacted the most, by our ecological crisis.
From Nyombi:
Spend some time reading this. You'll be amazed at what we can accomplish with it.
Nyombi is my name. I'm a climate justice advocate for Rise Up Movement. I'm from Uganda. The organization has existed for three years. We provide support for young people from all over the world to join forces and oppose climate change.
For me, as a person living in Africa, where climate change is a very real threat, striking was not enough.
Tree planting:
When I found a serious problem that needed immediate attention. People cut down trees in order to make quick cash, largely because they didn't understand the critical environmental and social value of trees. This creates desert and drought, which is a grave problem. This realization prompted me to mobilize people and encourage tree planting in schools and communities
Since then, I've planted more than 47,500 trees, in addition to visiting 30 schools.
However, this isn't enough.
My hope is that textbooks in 2022 can help me identify and solve climate change-related problems. This is because Africans remain ignorant about climate change. It is important that education on climate change is provided in schools across Africa and in all countries.
It is now you who can collaborate with us to keep alive the future of our children as well as the planet plus its species. Don't expect leaders, policymakers, or members from the working class to come out and support the new green deal for nature, justice recovery, and building resilience because the same people still share the same table with the exploiters.
My approach:
My activist career has been rich in learning opportunities.
I use immersive learning strategies for our fruit tree planting sessions. Each student receives individualized instruction.
Next step:
We are taking climate change to schools with the slogan “Make Climate literacy Essential in 2022, we have been striking both on the ground and on social media, now the next step is to take this to the eyes of the kids, we need more activists in the fight. 70% of these are still at school. It is our role to spread the gospel and also to show people what quick action they can take, this has to start by providing teachers resources like textbooks to start teaching kids about climate change.
It offers students, children, and other members of the community opportunities to improve their environmental management skills. In our preliminary research, we discovered that there are eight specific components in climate mitigation, including topics like climate syllabus, collaboration, planting trees, and recycling plastic wastes.
The fact that most people who live in areas with high levels of climate change are not educated from school is another reason.
Our goal
This project needs funding, as it will teach children and others how to take climate action. It will also help them gain skills that can be used to improve their education. We are seeking € 25.000 (≈ $ 33,500) in total funding. We need financial assistance to travel to 50 schools in order to plant and distribute 100,000 tree seedlings. 50 reusable plastics collection bins are needed for littering. 500 interactive lesson plans will be made available to students. The program is planned to begin in Mid-February 2022.
Estimated Budget:
500 Textbooks @ 13.50 = $6,750
100,000 Fruit Trees @ 2.50 = $25,000
50 Trashcans @ 35.00 = $1750
Total requested: $33,500
If the funding is granted, it will help students prepare for their professional life. This will give them the knowledge and skills to help others. This is not a singular cause.
Climate education is critical because it will help future leaders understand people's needs and make decisions that are capable of just transition and nature-based solutions include protection of animals below and above water.
This means that we should not invest in fossil fuel subsidies, greenwashing strategies like biomass burning. Which are not solutions to climate change because they encourage deforestation. When these learning experiences are available to students who wish to apply them in their studies. They will also be culturally conscious of technology they can employ in everyday life to lower their carbon footprint.
Young people need to be educated about climate activism right from school that will be the solution to climate change ignorance and denialism.
Let's do this together
We are most likely to reach over 60,000 students across the country through this program. This is in addition to our goal to visit 50 schools (out of 60,000) if we manage to convince 15000 students to become involved in climate action. because we will be having all necessary resources including teachers, researchers, scientists, and activists. In Africa, Climate change will be history in the coming years. Our generation adapts so quickly, always remember, it all starts with you and me working together, and now is the right time. Your donation or sharing can help us reach our goal. There is nothing impossible in this project. I have already tried it and it worked.
Otherwise, thank you all very much for your consideration during this process. It gives organizations like ours the chance to make a positive difference in the community.
