When I feel pounded by the waves of life, I can always count on Christie to offer respite from the chaos. She is like a rock, anchored solidly in the earth, yet rising always just above the whitewater no matter how high life’s waves get.
With your help, I now have the chance to help transform her rock into a sparkling gem and I invite you to join me on what could be the most rewarding ride of your life.
Christie is someone that dreams big, basks in the smallest daily miracles, and is such a rock of emotional support for her friends (like me), despite navigating through struggles I can only imagine. She is a single mother, massage therapist, elementary school teacher and yoga instructor, raising a child with a list of special needs longer than all of our daily to-do lists combined. From severe non-verbal autism, to cerebral palsy, to mysterious seizures and more, her baby is now 18 years old.
I am excited to help Christie raise the funds she needs to give her sweet Micah the best possible life as an adult at a care home she can trust to treat him with love, while also giving Christie some much needed space to move forward with her dreams.
Christie hopes to open a community wellness center providing alternative therapies including massage, yoga, naturopathy and nutritional education with all that she has learned on this journey of guiding Micah to his fullest potential. Her vision is that it will be accessible to all economic backgrounds and that she may provide the support to those who have had a similar struggle with raising a child with special needs.
Christie is no stranger to adversity and has managed to prevail against some of the most rare and heart-breaking challenges. Together, we can give Christie the boost she needs to get over these final and daunting hurdles to transform her history of hardship into a well of joy and health for herself, her son, and so many other individuals and families struggling with Autism and other special needs.
