Fight Trenice’s Sarcoma Cancer

Hello Family and Friends!

Our 18 year old daughter, Trenice, was diagnosed back in April with a very rare type of Cancer called Aveolar Soft Part Sarcoma. The journey started over a year ago with a visit to the dentist who noticed an abnormal space/growth in her inner jaw and she could not do her dental work until she was diagnosed by an Orthodontist. The Orthodontist referred us to an Oral surgeon who then referred us to a Neurosurgeon. The Neurosurgeon then diagnosed her condition as an Arteriovenous malformation. A condition where blood vessels leak inside of the inner jaw and erode the jaw bone.  She underwent surgery to correct the issue.

At the post surgery follow up the swelling had not shrunken at all, so the Neurosurgeon referred us to a Head and Neck Surgeon who ordered a biopsy. At last they found the problem but it was not what we wanted to hear. She was diagnosed with the aforementioned Sarcoma Cancer and we were then referred to one of the top 10 Oncologist in the Nation.

The Oncologist explained her type of cancer, the risks and the possible treatment. The first plan was to perform surgery and remove the tumor but that quickly changed due to where the tumor is located in which I will explain later. The second and only other plan we were given was to have her on a clinical drug trial, such as Axtinib or Anlotinib for 12-18 months. In which the Doctor was not too confident that it alone would shrink the tumor to perform the necessary surgery and with everything else we have been through, mainly a huge misdiagnosis. We were not comfortable with going through a trial that may or may not be effective.

Let me go back to the surgery and why it was thrown out. Normally, Sarcomas are only treated through surgery, ie. removal of the tumor as Chemotherapy and Radiation are ineffective to Sarcoma type cancer as it grows in tissues and vessels. The main problem with Trenice’s tumor is the location of it. The tumor is directly under her eye and right on the base of her skull. It is growing inside of her blood vessels and has already eroded most of her jaw bone. If left untreated it can become terminal.  The region of this tumor is very difficult to perform a successful surgery on without causing possible nerve damage , loss of an eye and/or loss of the right side of her face. We sought out three other opinions thus far who are all aligned with the decision that surgery is very risky or inoperable because of the size and location of the tumor.

These cancers, once detected, metastasize at a very rapid rate. So the goal is to shrink the tumor and remove it. We've decided to seek alternative routes as we were with one of the Leading Sarcoma specialists in the nation and it didn't seem promising that she would ever be cured. In fact we were told she will not be cured but possibly treated for her entire life.

My family and I have found a center in Mexico called Hope4Cancer that has experience and a very high success rate with Trenice’s rare cancer.  She will be intensely treated over the span of 21 days with about 200 different non toxic therapies to build her immune system and beat this cancer!!! After that they will guide her through a 12 month at home program to help her through her lifestyle changes. We have already been blessed to have her flight covered!

To close on some positives. I am her dad and I know Trenice is destined to be on this earth. Her birth story itself is nothing short of a miracle. She arrived in this world 2 months early and thankfully without ANY of the complications most preemies have. The Lord clearly has a plan for her. Her name literally means triple nice! Which most of you have experienced first hand. If you have ever met her you know and have felt her warmth and kindness as she always goes out of her way to make others feel loved and appreciated. Maybe you have just experienced her smile that tends to light up a room.  Her future goals are to work in the fields of Hollistic nutrition or recreational therapy so she can help others. She also aspires to work with homeless and down trodden youth as she has experienced it first hand. She loves to serve at our church. She is awesome with kids and has a heart of compassion.

So please come along with us on this journey. We will post updates and videos along the way. God is her ultimate healer and we are trusting in that. He will move in this situation as He sees fit. We appreciate your prayers as well. We thank you in advance and may the Lord bless you, your business, your family and your sacrificial giving!
