Emergency To Catch Up On Rent & Overdue Bills

Hi, I'm Tim and thank you for taking the time to consider this fundraiser to establish my own art and printing studio. I've never done this before so I hope you'll bear with me.

A little about me

I've spent the last 27 years working as a set and concept designer in film and tv production. Some of those productions include Babylon 5, Star Trek, Firefly (and the film, Serenity), The Avengers and other Marvel films. Recent projects include For All Mankind and Star Wars - The Mandalorian. During that time I've produced hundreds of sketches, designs, and blueprints.

I've also contributed to books like "The Star Fleet Survival Guide" by Simon & Schuster, and the Serenity Blueprints by Quantum Mechanix.

Although I've planned this for a very long time, with the current climate in the entertainment industry with very few shows in production, I'm trying to jumpstart my studio to weather these ebbs and flows. I believe that having years of experience (including several in the architecture trade) is also vital to make that a reality.

Purpose

The main purpose of my fundraiser is the purchase additional equipment in need to help me accomplish this effort creating and publishing artwork for the public - but mainly sci-fi fans. Some of that equipment includes a large format printer/scanner with associated ink and media to create both art and technical drawings, but also doubles as support in work-at-home situations. A reliable 3d printer will allow me to produce both models and model parts from 3D files. In the future, I could create additional items like t-shirts. Predicted costs are listed below.

All of this isn't just to realise a dream, but to allow me to manage my resources and remain productive and inspired whilst providing customers and fans with unique drawings and images from my own imagination.

Also, as this is not a charity fundraiser, I can provide something in return. When my studio is up and running I would like to provide each donor, a limited edition print of an original piece of art as a thank you for your support.

Additionally, a $10 to $50 donation will receive an autographed an 8"x 10" print. A $100 donation will receive a 5"x 7" hand sketch. A $200 donation receives an 8"x 10" hand sketch.
