Tumor Bulging Behind Bunny's Eye; Urgent Surgery!

Donation protected

Sweet Gunni was set to be eaten as a meat rabbit when a twist of fate should happen where her hutch latch broke free and so did she! She wasn't going to last long in the wild being a white baby bunny at only 3-months-old on her own, thankfully two Good Samaritans - Caitlin and Katrina - "hopped" into action.

Little did they know, something was growing painfully behind Gunni's eye - a large tumor that was causing her to go blind!! As her eye grew, so did her pain...

Her caretakers took her back and forth to the vet for a month, treating the scratches and giving pain medications. But it wasn't until none of those things worked that they decided to move forward with a CT scan, which revealed the tumor behind her eye.  These two rescuers knew that they needed to fix her up ASAP to live her full and hoppy life pain-free.

Unfortunately, it is looking like she will most likely have to get her eye removed in order for the surgeon to get to the tumor - we are hoping it is non-cancerous (fingers crossed for some good luck rabbit feet on this bun!). Luckily there is one specialist in Columbus who has the experience to perform the necessary surgery for her to get the cyst (and most likely her eye) removed.

Gunni is a strong and resilient 1-year-old English spot rabbit. This bunny is no ordinary bun - she has a day job where she gets to hang out in a flower shop and sample the rabbit-friendly greeneries, and greets her guests as if they were coming just to see her! Many have grown to love visiting her when they come to her home (the flower studio) for wedding flower consultations.

Through all of these many trips to the vet and her intense pain, Gunni has been nothing but loving, thankful, and determined to get better. She means so much to all of us at Fiori Florals as well as our friends and families! She deserves the best and since she is an exotic animal, the surgery must be done by a very specific exotics team at Medvet in Hilliard.

The surgery along with the CT scan totaled $2,800. Any little bit would go a long way to help us save her as this was an unexpected expense for this unexpected rescue bun! Please consider donating or sharing (sharing is caring!) Gunni's story, she has so much life left to live and we want her to continue living her best life with us for many years to come!!
