Occupational Therapists for Haiti
Donation protected
With over 1 million disabled Haitians, the need for therapy services is enormous.
The Haiti Rehabilitation Foundation (HRF) is a non-profit organization that was founded to educate Haitians who want to become Physical and Occupational Therapists. HRF provides the first and only school in Haiti with four-year degree programs in both PT and OT. The program takes place at the Léogâne campus of the Episcopal University of Haiti. The programs are offered through the Department of Rehabiliation and is called UNEPH/FSRL (Université Episcopale d’Haïti / Faculté des Sciences de Réhabilitation de Léogâne).
In Oct. 2015, five students entered for a year of General Health Studies. At the end of the freshman year the students chose a major of OT or PT. As of 2018, the school now has 3-active classes and has a total of 13-students.
I am a member of the board of directions for HRF. Due to a loss of a grant, the school has fallen into financial hardship and needs your help. This is your opportunity to provide support to a wonderful program. Join us as financial and/or academic supporters of new academic programs for Occupational Therapy (ergotherapie) and Physical Therapy (physiotherapie) in Haiti!
The collected money will be used for the following purposes:
$100 — support a class for one student
$250 — pay tuition for a student for one month
$1000 — cover the costs of a visiting faculty member
All of the collected funds will be directed to the Haiti Rehabilitation Foundation , which is the entity that supports charitable donations for the school.
Our motivation for doing this is to be able to grasp the chance of changing one life for the better by giving the gift of education. If we are able to change the life of one person, who will be trained to help others in need, why not do it?
We thank you for your time and generosity
