Ver’Shads Homegoing, Medical & Aftercare Expenses

My name is Lakeisha Griffin-Raggins I am the mother of Ver'Shad Raggins we are from the city of fontana ca. The worst day imaginable the grief is unbearable. A Mom shouldn't have to bury her baby, a father shouldn't have to plead with God to switch places with his deceased son. In addition to all the pain and confusion this hard working family has to humble themselves and ask for your help. The Raggins are a strong independent family that normally wouldn't ask anyone for anything.

On Sunday August 25th we lost the most precious gift A 7 YR OLD CHILD. On route to the beach for a family fun day the car stalled on the 241 toll road. Many cars went around hazard lights were flashing as Dad also waved his hands out the window to get other drivers attention. UNFORTUNATELY the big white van never appeared to slow down as he approached the stalled vehicle carrying three kids, 7 year old twins Ver'ell and Ver'Shad in the back seat and 16 year old Vernon Jr in front and Vernon Sr driving. Big Vernon yelled to the kids hold on boys hold on. The van plowed into them. Lakeisha was ahead of her family in another vehicle and Immediately made a U-turn across the fwy to get back to her family. As she approached the car that her family was in , the firs thing she seen was her boys lifeless bodies still in there seat belts but unresponsive. This has taken a huge toll on the family to know how one twin will always be without his Best friend and his partner in crime. Our days will never be the same to know we will always be without our Shad.

Shad was a loving baby and a mamas boy. He was always happy and so outgoing with his siblings there was no way possible for anyone not love him. He was smart and dedicate to go to school and learning. The kids had just recently started playing football for the Bruins which had became there new love and interest.They were just starting there future as football players for it all to be taken away in a blink of an eye. Things will never be the same for Ver'ell to lose his brother and still have to recover from his extensive injuries from the car accident. As a family we have to stand together and stay strong as a family. We just ask for all your prayers and love to help through this tragic situation.


We ask for all prayers and any donations to help with funeral services for Ver'Shad to rest in heaven, and medical bills and after care for his brother Ver'rell Raggins because he was also badly injured in this accident, Anything will help and be appreciate no matter how small the donations is we will truly be grateful.
